Clinical Observation on Vasovasostomy

Abstract
The results of vasovasostomies performed on 37 patients with postvasectomy azoospermia were evaluated clinically.
The mean age of these patients was 32.4 years.
The average interval between times of vasectomy and vasovasostomy was 2.4 years.
The most common one of reasons for requesting reversal operation was death of children in 21 patients (56.7%).
Of 29 patients who were followed up, 23(79.3%) had anatomical success as defined as the appearance of more than 10 x 106/ml normal viable sperms on semen analysis and 10(34.5%) had functional success, the occurrence of pregnancy.
Histology of testicular biopsy specimens available from 18 patients revealed normal spermatogenesis in 8, incomplete spermatogenesis in 10 and thickening of basement membrane in 8.
